Redmi Note 11 Pro review: Design
The first look at the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G makes you feel this is a premium device. Although, it follows the same design language as other Note 11 series phones, the Phantom White variant that I have looks and feel super-premium in hand. The device has a flat panel and rectangular camera setup at the back. It has a frosted glass back with a matte finish which not only makes it look good but makes sure it smudges very less. The device feels just the right size to hold in one hand and can be operated too with one palm.

The device is available in 3 colors in India- Phantom White, Star Blue, and Stealth Black.
Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G Unboxing
Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G comes in a cardboard box. The box contains-

The back has a quad-camera setup inside a rectangular module. The upper part of the module has the main lens, while the lower one has the other three and an LED flash. The camera module protrudes out and the phone is wobbly when you keep it on a flat surface. There is Redmi branding too at the back but in a very subtle way. Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G comes with an IP53 rating which makes it resistant to dust and splashes. Xiaomi has added extra rubber insulation around SIM slots which means no water or dust can enter through the slot. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 which makes you worry less about any kind of accident. At the front of the device is a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel and a selfie camera in the middle at the top. The display has bezels but they are reasonable and the chin is not too thick. The edges of the display and back are square and bold. The top edge of the device has a speaker grille, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IR blaster, and one microphone whereas the bottom side has another microphone, USB Type-C port, and SIM/microSD card tray. The left edge is idle while the right one has volume rockers and a power key with a fingerprint sensor. The device is super slimmer, sleeker, and lightweight to hold which makes its design and build even more likable. Overall, the device is comfortable to use and looks modern. Redmi Note 11 Pro review: Display
The Redmi Note 11 Pro display size is similar to its .predecessor. It includes a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a high 120Hz refresh rate. It is one of the few phones under Rs 20k to come with an AMOLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate which makes it a good deal. The screen is beautiful to look at and gives good brightness levels (470 nits peak brightness) with vibrant visuals, smooth animations, and life-like picture quality. The display has an automatic brightness boost feature when the phone comes under direct sunlight. The brightness reaches 750 nits under sunlight making the screen visible. As mentioned above, the display has a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 protection which makes it resistant to rough and tough usage. The display panel is flat with 1080×2400 pixel resolution, DCI-P3 color space, and HDR10 video support for OTT apps like Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, and more. A high refresh rate makes sure the scrolling experience is seamless, whether you are surfing the browser, reading news, checking social media sites, or anything else.
Redmi Note 11 Pro review: Battery
The Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G packs a 5000mAh battery that can make the smartphone last an entire day with a busy day’s usage. This included tasks like calling, texting, browsing, camera usage, and video streaming. Gaming drains the battery a little faster and if you are someone who goes for long gaming sessions, then you might need to charge the phone a little earlier than a day. Xiaomi bundles a 67W fast charging which charges the device to 100% in around 40-42 minutes. This is the fastest charging available in this category. The charger comes inside the box so you don’t need to worry about buying the adapter separately.
Redmi Note 11 Pro review: Camera
Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G has a quad-camera setup at the back. The setup includes a 108MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a 16MP selfie camera at the front as well. The camera app on Redmi note 11 Pro is simple and straightforward. Modes can be changed with sideswipes on the black bezel and a toggle next to the shutter release can be used to switch between back and front cameras. There are a host of modes available for making photography even more interesting. These include Pro mode, night mode, long exposure, and more. The main 108MP camera gives a decent performance. The photos taken in daylight are 12MP by default and come out to be colorful, vibrant, and detailed. There is a sharpness around the photos and the pictures look lifelike. The main sensor works well at night as well, giving clicks with less noise and a good level of brightness and sharpness. When the 108MP mode is switched on, the photos clicked get much better in quality but are huge and need to be manually resized. Night Mode is available for the main camera and using it gives more detail and less noise to the photographs. It is worth pointing out that, shooting from the main sensor sometimes takes additional few seconds for processing. Talking about the 8MP ultrawide lens, it does an ok job in good lighting. The problem is that it struggles with exposure levels and detailing and thus one will need a lot of editing to make an ultrawide camera photo look brighter. I feel some other phones with ultrawide cameras give a better performance than this one as this one gives a lot of noise in the clicks of the ultrawide lens. 2MP macro lens has practically no use as it clicks very bad photos. It is no match to what the 5MP shooter gave in the Note 10 Pro Max. This 2MP lens is useless as even in close-up shots, there is no detailing, clarity, or accuracy. 2MP depth sensor is just about average as well. The 16MP selfie camera gives an above-average performance by giving detailed, colorful, and good exposure clicks. Dynamic range is limited but works well. Redmi Note 11 Pro review: Performance
Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G is powered by the MediaTek Helio G96 processor and it gives an average performance to keep things running for daily usage. Browsing Instagram or having a WhatsApp video call, everything is smooth. The apps load and open quickly and multitasking is also smooth. In my usage, there were certain lags and crashing of pages but that happened just a few times. While gaming too, the processor gives a good performance but only with medium graphics and frame rates. Thermal performance could have been worked upon though. The device has 8GB RAM which combined with a processor makes the phone run smoothly and 128GB of internal storage is sufficient to store important files, documents, audio, videos, and more. The smartphone runs Xiaomi’s MIUI 13 which is a better version than its predecessor. It comes better optimized and with some bloatware. The third-party preinstalled apps can be uninstalled if you don’t need them and there are various options for customizations and personalization as well. The only downside is that it still runs Android 11 and there is no update about whether and when Android 12 will be available. In the audio department, the phone offers a dual speaker system and the audio output is good. Volume levels could have been better but the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack gives the device some brownie points. Being a 4G only phone, its network performance, and call quality is decent, Since 5G is still far off in the country, 4G LTE works fine.
Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G review verdict: Should you buy it?
Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G is priced under the 20K price range for the Indian Market. In 2022, you will find it very difficult to find a no-compromise phone in this price range in the country. Despite component shortages and higher prices, Xiaomi offers a respectable package under the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G label. The phone has a stylish design, good display, large battery, and quick charging speed. The phone’s gaming and CPU performance are as impressive as their predecessor though. Also, I hope Xiaomi rolls out the Android 12 update soon.
