Meta Monetising Horizon Worlds
Facebook changing its name to Meta shows us the emphasis Zuckerberg and Co are giving to their vision of the metaverse. The company already started testing its Horizon Worlds with select Oculus users in December last year and even touted creating a digital currency called Z-bucks. And now, Meta announced monetizing the Horizon Worlds by letting creators within make commercial transactions. On Tuesday, Meta said the Create mode in the Commerce tab of Horizon Worlds is open for interested creators to make anything they desire. Further, These tools are available to all users in the US and Canada, aged 18 and above. Just head onto the Commerce tab and then to Create mode for playing around. And if you really feel you made something that’s worth trading, list it in the marketplace to sell. Well, you should make sure you’re following Oculus’ Prohibited Content Policy while making things. And just like Facebook and Instagram, Meta is letting out the partial moderation power to its users, who can report any violation found on the Horizon Worlds platform. Meta also announced a bonus program to creators in the US, which involves paying them for reaching monthly goals put up by Meta. The company said it won’t take any revenue cut in paying out bonuses and will credit the entire amount every month on time.
