Kia Motors to launch EV6 in India in June 2022

According to the updates, Kia Motors’ EV6 is a midsize compact SUV in India and will be completely electrified with high EV powertrain specifications. EV6 shares much of its specs with Hyundai IONIQ 5. What’s important to know here is that the EV6 will launch in India using the completely built unit (CBU) and there’s no doubt it will pack in a hefty price tag to compensate for the same.

Kia Motors EV6 Specifications

The Kia EV6 will be available in two powertrains aka a single motor rear-wheel drive (RWS) or you can get a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) setup. The former produces 170hp while the latter amps it up to 235hp. Both the trims will be based on the e-GMP platform for EVs made with a partnership between Hyundai and Kia. There’s a 58kWh battery pack integrated on the base model while the highly specced model will get a beefier 77.4kWh pack. Pairing up the beefier battery pack produces different outputs as well. It will see a hiked-up 229hp on the RWD variant while the AWD variant will get a 325hp thanks to the larger battery. Interestingly, there’s a GT line with the EV6 as well where the dual-motor AWD will be able to produce 585hp of peak horsepower with 740 Nm of peak torque to go with it. Depending upon the trims, the EV6 will pack in HUD, advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), dual-screen layout, connected car tech, among others. As the car will follow a CBU route, the prices will be swanky. However, there was no update on the pricing at the time of writing this.
