NFTs Support in Instagram

Meta has always been a blockchain enthusiast. While it’s working on a dedicated metaverse altogether, the company started letting creators in Horizon Worlds create and sell their digital stuff (NFTs) last month. And now, the same is coming to Instagram.

These are (as per TechCrunch); With no fees associated with using them on the platform, Instagram said these users could share an NFT they had created or bring something they brought from someone – to their Feed, Stories, or to DMs. Currently, Instagram supports NFTs on Ethereum and Polygon blockchains, with support for Flow and Solana coming soon. Also, these NFTs can be stored and showcased through the Rainbow, Trust Wallet, and MetaMask wallets. Instagram said they might add more functionality after receiving the feedback from this initial phase.

Soon after this, Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg said they’re adding similar functionality to Facebook soon and could also be coming to other Meta apps in the future. He also stated plans for the company to explore augmented reality NFTs, or 3D NFTs, which you can bring to Instagram Stories using Spark AR.
